On the 9th of December Jaime and Leanne got married in front of their family and friends and a beautiful sparkling Christmas tree! It truly was a wonderful weekend to remember!
Congratulations Leanne and Jaime! I wish you a lifetime of happiness and laughter together! It was an honour to be your wedding photographer!
Jaime and Leanne have been together for almost 18 years before they got married; they met at work in Cambridge which was both their first jobs after finishing Uni. They became inseparable almost immediately, best friends and true soul-mates. After three years in Cambridge they moved up to Nottingham. They explained “We have made wonderful friends along the way but due to prejudices and bias from other people it’s definitely felt that’s it been “us against the world” at times. Various negative experiences has made it easier for us to keep ourselves to ourselves sadly. This is one of the reasons why it’s taken us almost 18 years to tie the knot! However, since we sent out invites to the wedding we’ve been overwhelmed by how excited people are about us getting married and so we just can’t wait to finally celebrate with our close friends and family!”
How about their proposal story? Jaime explains “Leanne has proposed (not officially) many times over the last 16 years! And so it was always going to happen. It has just taken a while for us both to feel ready for such an occasion. Bizarrely getting married wasn’t the scary bit, it was the being the centre of attention that was overwhelming. Un-romantically we mutually agreed, probably over a bottle of Prosecco (or two) in Wetherspoons! Plus Leanne’s niece essentially gave us an ultimatum to hurry up and get married or she’d never speak to us again! Ha ha!”
So fast forward to the 9th of December, when the Midlands experienced a wonderful Christmassy blanket of snow, Jaime and Leanne FINALLY and joyfully tied the knot! It was a beautiful day!
They day started off with their family and friends all chipping in and preparing Hollywood House for the festivities ahead, while Leanne and Jaime were transformed into Forties goddesses in the Judy Garland room! Everyone had travelled to the house the day before and were spending the wedding weekend together in the sprawling house, taking advantage of the rare opportunity to spend time together, and also celebrating Christmas too! The atmosphere in the house was wonderful, and we couldn’t have been made more welcome!
It was soon time to travel up to Matlock County Hall for their wedding ceremony. Jaime and Leanne, and their Dads, travelled up in the wedding car, and their guests shared a couple of (party!) minibuses!
The service was delivered by two lovely registrars and their wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Everyone was so so happy to get to see their two wonderful friends finally get married and exchange beautiful hand-made rings.
After drinks in the bar we all headed back to Hollywood House for the wedding breakfast and an evening of fun and dancing! It was a true delight to have Rose Devine sing for the guests while they finished their desserts and then kick-start the party with some amazing songs! It was a fabulous evening of fun under the lights of the giant Christmas tree!
It was such a wonderful day celebrating the marriage of two best friends and soul mates. I left, into the snow, feeling truly happy and all Christmassy!
Jaime and Leanne, may the love you shared today grow stronger as you grow old together! Love Jenny xx
