Christmas time has long been a very special time for Adam and Helen. Their beautiful daughter Lacey was born on Christmas Day in 2010, and Adam proposed to Helen on Christmas Day 2016, so a Christmas wedding was the natural choice! On the 29th December 2017, Helen and Adam were married at Casa in Chesterfield, surrounded by their wonderful family and friends!
This is their Wedding Preview!
It was a snowy winter day and Helen’s Dad Adrian was out gritting the road ready for the VW Campervan that was on its way to pick up the Bride and her Bridesmaids. The house was alive with laughter, selfies, champagne (and Dad’s homemade Rhubarb Gin!), and we couldn’t have been made more welcome! It was wonderful to see all the special items that Helen had laid out for me to photograph, from the new perfume from her Husband-to-be, to her Grandmother’s watch. Lacey was an absolute delight (as usual), helping me collect and photograph things, as well as simply making everyone smile!
Adam and his Groomsman, however, were over at Casa, making sure everything looked amazing, whilst trying to nurse a really bad cold and keep his emotions in check. I must say it is a special thing to see a Groom feeling emotional on their wedding morning, it’s an honour to get to witness how incredibly important this day is to them.
Soon the Bridesmaids were pulling up in their VW Campervan and we knew Helen was on her way! Guests tread carefully through the snow and ice to go and take their pace in the ceremony room that was snug and cosy and filled with candles. Everything just felt so special and the snow really added to the Christmas spirit!
Helen and Adam’s wedding ceremony was wonderfully intimate, and full of tears, love, and laughter too. Helen looked like a princess as she came down the aisle with her Dad.
Then it was on to the drinks reception and time for the family photographs. Helen and Adam knew that the group photos of their family and friends were an important part of the wedding photography for them, and with the help of Helen’s brother Martyn, we managed to whizz through them without a hitch! Perfect!
Soon it was time for everyone to head back into the main room that had now been transformed ready for the Wedding Breakfast. The speeches were gorgeously heartfelt and emotional, and Helen’s Maid of Honour Dani also gave a fab speech. For their Wedding Breakfast Helen and Adam treated their guests to an incredible BBQ buffet, and everyone really enjoyed themselves!
What can I say about the evening party! Well it was brilliant. So much dancing and fun being had by all! We even got to head outside for some sparklers! Helen and Adam’s first dance was beautiful, especially when Lacey joined them on the dance floor for cuddles! Helen also shared a dance with her Dad and Brother too, it was really moving to see how much the day meant to them all.
What an incredible day! It was such a privilege to get to photograph these special moments and preserve them for years to come for Helen and Adam to look back on with Lacey as she grows, and even as she plans her own wedding in the future! Congratulations Adam and Helen – I wish you a lifetime of happiness, fun, laughter, and hugs! Congratulations on becoming Mr and Mrs Wagstaffe!
