Sarah and Parth
Sarah and Parth met while they were both working in Singapore, and were married in a traditional Indian ceremony in Mumbai, in February 2018.
Growing up, Sarah had always dreamt of weddings in Kniveton Church, as her grandma and granddad got married there and they would visit a lot. So the couple decided to have a wedding blessing ceremony back in the UK, to celebrate with family and friends and particularly some of Sarah’s elderly aunts/other members of her family were not able to attend their wedding in India.
Yeldersley Hall was the clear choice for their reception, as Sarah’s parents have always liked the hall and Sarah herself had always hoped that she would have her reception there some day. Parth and his family are originally from India and are Hindu so Sarah was excited to show them a Christian church service and wedding blessing. The couple were looking forward to having their family and friends together and sharing their different cultures together!
Their Wedding Blessing
I arrived at St Michael’s Church in Kniveton to a warm and sunny afternoon, beautiful flowers, and guests that made me feel very welcomed. It wasn’t long before Parth arrived with his family and I got to meet him properly. (As bumping into him in Intu Derby doesn’t quite count! hee hee!) Parth was feeling relaxed and excited about their wonderful day ahead. Mentioning that being already married had taken the pressure off and left them free to enjoy the day.
Sarah then arrived with her family, and looked truly stunning in her princess style wedding dress, complete with her bouquet of traditional English flowers made by Nadia Di Tullio Flowers.
Sarah walked into the church arm in arm with her father, but met Parth halfway down the aisle to walk that last stretch together. Their vicar gave a lovely service in the pretty and intimate church.
After the service, their guests created a confetti tunnel exit for the happy couple. They are always so much fun! We then took some photographs together in the church grounds, before heading over to Yeldersley Hall where drinks and canapés were waiting for us.
Yeldersley is a beautiful wedding venue set within some of the most stunning grounds I have had the pleasure to visit. A mix of kitchen gardens, formal topiary, and more relaxed sweeping gardens.
Naturally family group photographs were very important to Sarah and Parth’s families, as they had come from near and far to celebrate, and so we spent some time photographing them together. Then it was time to capture some relaxed and happy couple portraits before they were to be called in to sit down for their meal. The English-fete style bunting was just the icing on the cake!
Sarah and Parth had chosen my half day wedding photography package so, after gathering some more detail photographs and photographs of the grounds, it was time for me to let them enjoy the rest of their special day together.
I wish you both a lifetime of happiness, and I can’t wait to share the rest of your photographs with you!
