I was so excited to be heading up to Peak Edge again after Helen and Mark’s pre-wedding session the month previous. (Click here if you missed the photographs!)
I arrived at 11am and walked in to the bridal suite to find the most fabulous bunch of women and girls all getting their hair and make up done. Dresses were hung all ready to go, and shoes and flowers adorned the room. My second shooter Clare and I got stuck in to photographing the wonderful atmosphere and details within the room. There was so much happiness and excitement in the air, and the brightly coloured bouquets seemed to just mirror the mood perfectly!
I then went down to the Red Lion Pub to capture the Groom Mark having a drink to calm his nerves with his Best Man and brother Brent, and of the guests arriving and having drinks together upon arrival. The Orangery was all set up for the ceremony and was looking beautiful, the table top floral display made a perfect setting for the photographs of the wedding rings!
Before we knew it it was time for Dad Reg to go and collect his daughter and head down to the ceremony! Helen looked absolutely beautiful in her incredible dress, and little Ellie and the bridesmaids Rosie, Emma and Lucy, looked like little princesses in their dresses too!
Helen, Ellie, and her bridesmaids walking down the aisle was such precious moment, the look of pride just shone from Mark’s face. After two beautiful readings, friends and family looked on with love as Helen and Mark became Mr and Mrs Holmes!
The sun was shining gloriously as they went outside to meet their guests. Drinks, hugs, and laughter, filled the air and it was a fantastic moment of celebration and congratulations!
Helen had chosen my favourite confetti, ‘Unicorn Poop’ from The Sugar Stop Company, as it is so wonderfully brightly coloured, and her confetti photographs just look amazing, even if I do say so myself! Hee hee!
The rain held off just long enough for us to get some beautifully natural and happy portraits of the newlyweds! The gardens of Peak Edge Hotel, with it’s wonderful lake and bridge, and rolling hills in the background, made the perfect backdrop for this country wedding. As the rain started to fall we headed back inside to get ready for the speeches and meal.
Have you seen the incredible cakes Helen chose, made by Bake in Ashbourne? I pretty much wanted to run away to a corner with the chocolate one in particular – it smelled DIVINE!!
It was then time for everyone to take their seats, and what can I say about the speeches, they were so brilliant! The perfect mix of happy tears and seat rocking laughter! We were even treated to a slideshow from Best Man Brent, the content of which I don’t think I could possibly divulge! Ha ha!
The meal was delicious, I particularly loved the lemon tart (of course!), and everyone was enjoying the wonderful atmosphere and having the most brilliant time! I couldn’t wait to photograph everyone on the dance floor, to capture the fun that everyone was so clearly having!
Helen and Marks first dance as husband and wife was just beautiful, and I was so happy to be able to capture Helen’s dance with her Dad for her, as I knew meant a lot to her. (How perfect were the lights in that shot by the way!) No one needed encouragement to get up on to the dance floor, it was so awesome! I think these are actually some of my absolute favourite party shots as everyone was just so brilliant and really letting their hair down! To be honest, I didn’t want to leave!
Congratulations again Helen and Mark, it was such a perfect day and so full of happiness and joy! I wish you all the happiness in the world, thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer, it was a real honour!
Here are some of my favourite photographs from their wedding day! Enjoy!
