On Tuesday the 31st December 2018 the winter sun shone perfectly in the sky, offering a crisp clear day; perfect for getting married! On arrival at The White Hart, it was clear the celebrations were getting underway as Emma was busy getting ready with her Bridesmaids and Mum, and Rob and his groomsmen were preparing themselves in the bar with a cold pint of Guinness. Perfect!
I arrived just before the ceremony, so after taking some fun photographs of the guys pinning their buttonholes on, it was time for guests to take their seats for the wedding ceremony. Rob stood nervously awaiting his future wife, wonderfully supported by his Best Man Tom, when Emma appeared at the door looking absolutely stunning. As she got to the top of the aisle Rob lifted the veil from her face and it was just a beautiful moment.
Their ceremony was a beautiful affair with two heartfelt readings; a shortened version of Dr Seuss “Oh The Places You Will Go” and “The Art of Marriage”. After being pronounced Mr and Mrs Mills, Emma and Rob walked back down the aisle together under a flurry of confetti! Everyone gathered in the bar for drinks and laughter, while we took lovely group photographs and then photographs of the newlyweds themselves. The White Hart is lucky to enjoy such a lovely countryside location!
After a set of truly moving speeches and their delicious sit down meal, Rob and Emma cut their beautiful wedding cake with an actual ceremonial sword borrowed for the night from the Army where Rob works as a Reserve!
Then their band set up and provided an awesome party to dance the night, and what was left of 2018, away! The dancefloor was packed and I just know it stayed that way right through until 2019! What an incredible day and end to the year!
It was a pleasure to have been asked to have been asked to be Emma and Rob’s New Year’s Eve wedding photographer at the White Hart in Derbyshire. I wish you both all the happiness in the world guys!
