On the 18th May 2019 Andrew and Sarah became Mr and Mrs Turner surrounded by their lovely friends and family at The Pheasantry Brewery in Newark, Nottinghamshire. It was a fabulously relaxed day, with an outside ceremony, an ice cream van, and crazy golf!
Welcome to their little Wedding Photography Preview! Woo hoo!
Sarah and Andy have been together since September 2013 and met at work. Sarah started a new role for Lloyds Banking Group and Andy was one of the trainers. “We started seeing each other at the local Wetherspoons on a Friday after work, which turned into dating and then Andy near enough moving in with me and my flat mates.” says Sarah. They then moved in together in Leeds City centre after about 2 years of being together, and then eventually in August 2017 they bought our first home!
The Proposal Story:
Andrew proposed to Sarah, “It wasn’t really a secret that it was going to happen, we had talked about getting married. Originally the plan was to propose when we were in Barcelona on holiday with our best man and his wife, but on a drunk night out I guessed this was the plan and reminded Andy that I’d prefer something a little more low key. Andy was then going to propose as we were walking along the canal after a celebratory meal in Leeds after Sarah had completed a 100 mile bike ride and the Yorkshire Three Peaks for charity (they were only a couple of days apart). Unfortunately approximately 2 miles into the bike ride, another cyclist crashed into Sarah and she ended up fracturing her lumbar spine so the walk along the canal never happened! The proposal ended up being in the kitchen whilst I was making a cup of tea and Andy just handed over the ring box. The ring was Andy’s grandma’s from her marriage to his grandad. It was a lovely special moment.”
The Wedding Planning:
Andrew explains that he loves that Sarah is extremely organised and he doesn’t really have to do anything apart from turn up! Hee hee! For example, Sarah chose the The Pheasantry Brewery for their venue and it took over a year for Andrew to visit it (and that was only because his parents wanted to!). Sarah is very creative and has loved making the table centre pieces, decorations, designing the invitations, sewing bunting with her Mum, growing and collecting the flowers, and so on.
Wow what can I say! It was a day just so full of fun and laughter! From the moment we arrived with Sarah and her awesome Bridesmaids and her parents, we knew it was going to be a fab day!
Although the weather was touch and go right up to the ceremony, the rain held off and Sarah and Andy were able to be married outside in the lovely wooded garden. The ceremony was just wonderful, my particular favourite moment was when Andy mouthed “Wow!” when he saw his Bride coming down the aisle towards him. After they were pronounced Mr and Mrs Turner, Sarah and Andy exited through a flurry of confetti to their awaiting guests. It was then time for Ice Cream and drinks in the lovely afternoon sun. After some wonderfully relaxed portraits, it was time for the wedding breakfast and speeches. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as everyone gave really meaningful speeches. Afterwards it was back out into the gardens for some fun and games and Crazy Golf! After cutting the cake, Andy and Sarah and their guests hit the dance floor and really partied the night away! The atmosphere was just perfect and everyone was having such a great time!
Congratulations again Sarah and Andy, I wish you both a lifetime of happiness, fun, and laughter! Thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer at the Pheasantry Brewery, it was a real honour!! – Jenny xxx
