Rainbow Pride Wedding at Shottle Hall // Ann + Stacey

  • VENUE:
  • MAKE UP:

On the 5th May Stacey and Ann became Mrs and Mrs Chadwick-O’Neill surrounded by their amazing friends and family at Shottle Hall near Derby! It was an amazingly happy and colourful day, especially as Ann and Stacey went for the PRIDE rainbow theme!

Welcome to their Wedding Photography Preview! Woo hoo!

Our Couple:

Ann and Stacey met where they first worked together, at a small animal vets in Nottingham. Stacey grew up locally in Selston, and Ann had moved up to Nottingham from Brighton for work. Ann says “We were very good friends initially, and soon became partners – much to everyone’s amazement as we are absolute polar opposites! We’ve now been together for 8 years.” Ann then proposed to Stacey on the 21st June 2017 overlooking Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, California. “Stacey nearly fainted from the shock…!” says Ann.

Their Wedding Day:

On the morning of Sunday 5th May I met up with Stacey and Ann at the hotel where where they were both getting ready together. Due to a later ceremony time, and the fact that they were happily doing away with the ‘not seeing each other until the ceremony’ tradition, we opted to head over to Belper River Gardens for some relaxed and un-rushed couple portraits before the ceremony. It was a wonderful way to begin the wedding day; helping everyone to relax and have fun together before the craziness begins.

When we arrived at Shottle Hall, guests were already starting to arrive and there was a real buzz of excitement in the air! The weather was favourable so the ceremony was given the go ahead to take place at the pagoda outside. First the beautiful bridemaids walked down the aisle, followed by Stacey with Mum Coral, and then Ann with brother Mark. After a lovely reading by Best Man Rupert, Mrs and Mrs Chadwick-O’Neill walked back up the aisle underneath a fluffy of awesome rainbow confetti. Everyone was full of smiles and hugs for our newlyweds!

After a lovely relaxed drinks reception it was time for the wedding breakfast and speeches. After Bridesmaid Alicia’s speech, Ann gave a wonderful speech followed by a surprise performance on the piano for her new wife Stacey. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Ann played ‘Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran.

The rainbow cake was cut and everyone hit the dance floor! Ann and Stacey had worked with Paul at Spirits High Events to create their perfect wedding playlist, which was so much fun! They even played ‘Stacey’s Mom’ by Fountains of Wayne for mum Coral! After a colourful blur of smoke grenades, rainbow flags, and comedy glasses and photobooth props it was sadly time for me to leave.

Congratulations again Stacey and Ann! It truly was an honour to play a part in your day and get to witness such a joyful occasion for you both.  I hope you enjoy this little preview before you receive your full wedding gallery in a couple of weeks!

Last question: What have you both enjoyed the most about the wedding planning process?
“Honestly, we’ve not really enjoyed the massive industry and marketing – we just wanted to make the wedding day our own and that’s all that mattered to us. Our one piece of advice to other couples planning their wedding is to just ignore the madness and make it your own!” – Such great words of advice! Ann and Stacey were so great at creating lots of beautiful personal touches to their wedding styling – Ann made all the flower arrangements for example. There are so many ways to personalise your wedding and really make it your own!
