On Saturday the 28th July 2018, Nick and Lauren married at the grand Wentworth Woodhouse near Rotherham in South Yorkshire, surrounded by their transatlantic families and friends. This is their wedding photography preview!
Lauren from the UK, and Nick from the USA, met in a bar in Paris where they both lived, when Lauren’s friend invited her to a leaving party and Nick’s friend invited him! Nick proposed to Lauren bar at the end of their street, with a beautiful and romantic view of Montmartre, with every little detail planned! It’s a wonderful story and one they will have to tell you in person! The rest, as they say, is history, and they have now been together for 5 years!
Fast forward to now as Lauren is getting nervously ready with her sister and friends in the wings of Wentworth Woodhouse; a venue with huge sentimental value to Lauren as, growing up, she could see the property from her childhood home and always dreamed of marrying there one day.
Nick and his friends arrive and are soon welcoming their guests who arrive in style on a London Routemaster bus and a vintage Yorkshire bus out in front of the property’s imposing frontage.
It is soon time for the wedding ceremony which was held in Wentworth Woodhouse’s intimate pillared hall. Flanked on both sides by their bridesmaids and groomsmen, as is the American way, Lauren and Nick made their promises and vows to each other. The smiles on their faces were just wonderful!
Then it was out into the front for awesome confetti and one of the biggest group shots I have ever seen! Guests were treated to drinks and canapés and games on the lawn including the American trowing game called ‘Cornhole’ (which I just could not bring myself to say ha ha!!).
The wedding breakfast was served in the outstanding marbled ballroom. Such an incredible space, where so many families will have enjoyed glamorous parties over the property’s long history, and today was no exception. Speeches were given by both Dads, the bride’s sister Olivia, the best men, and also Lauren too. It is wonderful that so many of my brides are now giving speeches at their weddings. Bucking the historical trend of only the men being allowed to speak!
The evening party was a literal dance-off with everyone joining in on the dance floor and making it an awesome evening all round! (Check out Nick’s sister Courtney doing the Worm!!!)
The arrival of the pizza van and the photo booth van really topped it off and everyone was definitely up for a night of fun! It was such a brilliant day!!
Nick and Lauren – I wish you both all the love and happiness in the world. Enjoy this wonderful time together and never stop smiling and having fun. Thank you for giving me the honour of being your wedding photographer at Wentworth Woodhouse!! I hope your move from Paris to Hong Kong goes well!!
