On Saturday the 20th October, Fi and Ross got married at Breadsall C of E Church and The West Mill in Derby. This is a little preview of their wedding photographs!
Ross and Fiona:
Our lovely couple have been together for 6 years. Ross explains “We met in a club in Hvar, Croatia and chatted. Then said goodbye and then met on the plane on the way home and managed to sit next to each other! Two weeks later went on our first date – the rest as they say is history!” They have now lived together since 2014 and bought their first home in 2015.
Ross proposed to Fi in 2017 in Paris by the Sacre Coeur. Fiona remembers the night fondly “It was night and he had tried to do three times before but kept getting disturbed – too many people, rats by the Seine, etc. How he kept it together I’ll never know!”
Their Wedding Day:
On Saturday the 20th October, it was a beautiful autumnal day – crisp but sunny, and I travelled up to meet Fiona at her parent’s home in Breadsall ahead of their wedding day!
The preparations were in full swing and everyone was busy getting ready for the celebrations ahead. Meanwhile, Ross was over at the Penta Hotel with his Groomsmen and lots of the guests.
The morning couldn’t have been more perfect. The atmosphere was relaxed and happy at both venues and everyone was excited for what lay ahead!
Ross and Fi chose to get married at the local Breadsall Church, which was Fi’s childhood church and where her sister and other members of her family had also got married. Their service was beautifully meaningful, with readings from friends and family, as well as singing by their friend Salma and music by Fi’s brother Matt. The Reverend Sister Diana even returned to conduct their service which was really special for the couple.
After being proclaimed Husband and Wife, Fiona and Ross and their guests made the short trip over to The West Mill in Darley Abbey, Derby for their wedding reception. Arriving by Rolls Royce, the couple enjoyed a confetti entrance and then spent time relaxing with their friends and family.
Before sitting down for their Wedding Breakfast, Fi and Ross took some time to take some group portraits and then some couple portraits in the stunning courtyard and surroundings of The West Mill. The sky was a brilliant blue and the sun was warm. it was really wonderful to take that time out to be together.
Food was enjoyed and speeches were given, and everyone had a brilliant time relaxing together during their meal. Soon it was time to head down to the party floor where Fi and Ross cut their awesome wedding cake (made by mum, complete with a Fimo Fi and Ross figurine made by the couple!) and hit the dance floor for the first time as Mr and Mrs Flowers!
Congratulations Fiona and Ross, you were such a lot of fun and absolute stars, and I’m sure you have the most wonderful wedding day memories! Thank you for asking me along to photograph your very special day for you, here is a little preview of your photographs, I can’t wait to edit and show you the rest! Lots of love, Jenny xxxx
