On Saturday the 11th November 2017 the winter sun shone perfectly in the sky, offering a crisp clear day; perfect for getting married! On arrival at Sarah’s childhood home in Nuneaton, it was clear the celebrations were getting underway as Sarah and her awesome bridesmaids were having their hair and make up done and enjoying some glasses of champagne. It was particularly special that Sarah was getting ready in the home that she grew up in, and that the colour of the bridesmaids dresses even matched the colour she painted her childhood bedroom!
After a morning of laughter with the girls, I headed off to their church, literally just around the corner, and met up with Adam and his groomsmen. After the obligatory ‘How to Pin The Boutonniere On’ lesson from me, the boys were ready to greet their guests!
The guests were welcomed by St Peter’s current vicar, but the wedding ceremony was delivered by the now-retired vicar from Sarah’s childhood. It was lovely that he was able to return and play such an important role in Sarah and Adam’s marriage. He was also able to share some wonderful stories from when Sarah was a child and played the Baby Jesus in their nativity plays!
After the ceremony it was off to Packington Moor! The guests were welcomed by drinks and canapés and invited into the beautiful old barn. Once everyone had warmed up and had a good natter, we got on with the family group photographs. The courtyard at Packington Moor provides a perfect sheltered location for these btw! \
Then it was time for Adam and Sarah to take a little bit of time for themselves, as we had a wander around the working farm for their Couple Photographs. The hay barn was fully stocked for the winter, and the blue corrugated shed provided an awesome backdrop for their photographs. Then I noticed a fantastic gate, which we pulled open so that Adam and Sarah could go into the field for a couple of photographs. It was only when the gate was shut and the photographs were underway that a horse galloped over out of nowhere to see what was going on!! I must admit that I was a teeny bit worried that we wouldn’t get Sarah and Adam out in time before the horse got all the way over!! It was a hilarious moment and one that I am sure we all won’t forget! What a great memory for their wedding day!!
Soon it was time to head back to the barn for their wedding breakfast and speeches. It was so lovely that Sarah’s childhood friend and Maid of Honour Wendy gave a speech along with the Father of the Bride, the Groom and the Best Man!
As the evening drew in it was time for the party to get started! Their amazing cake (made by a family member!) was cut and the dancing began! It was a particularly super cute moment when the couples’ almost 2 year old niece Mia-Rose joined in the First Dance with the Best Man’s son Finn!
Adam and Sarah – I wish you both all the love and happiness in the world. Enjoy this wonderful time together and never stop smiling and having fun. Thank you for giving me the honour of being your wedding photographer at Packington Moor. Enjoy your honeymoon to Thailand!!!
